About the event
Engineers and other technical experts who provide consulting services to the insurance and legal industries are, by definition, not experts in policy and policy language. The engineering or scientific definitions of terms like “wear,” “fatigue,” “gradual deterioration,” or even “dampness of atmosphere” could be interpreted in starkly distinct ways by technical and policy experts. In what is possibly an even more confusing scenario, the terms could have extensive overlap in meaning, but for a few small (yet critical) distinctions.

This presentation by Marco Soto of Envista Forensics seeks to commence a robust discussion across industry sectors on the gaps between the technical and policy definitions of these key phrases and how a better shared understanding can assist all stakeholders in the claims process.
